Hi Franklin,

I’m writing because I saw that you posted your service on our site a couple days ago – great! – but you also wrote a blog post wondering whether some spam messages you received were connected to us.

The answer is: no. We never sell or otherwise give out your personal email address.

I checked, and here’s what happened:

1. You used our Craigslist one-click posting feature.

2. You posted your Thumbtack listing on Craigslist: http://delaware.craigslist.org/crs/2322091143.html

3. You can see that your business email is public on that listing – that’s where the spam is coming from.

I’d be more than happy to speak with you further about this. My number is {number deleted}.

As you can imagine, we don’t like misinformation about our company out there on the Internet!

Thanks again, Franklin!

I stand corrected! Looks like my exposure on craig’s list has brought on the spam flies. Kudos to Thumbtack to identifying and responding to the issue promptly.

Take note folks, that’s proper brand management. I am pulling my earlier post and altering my craig’s list posting immediately with apologies to Sander and his peeps.

Thanks to those that commented. Keep watching!
